Default Biodiesel

Is it possible to run biodiesel in our engines? If so, what's involved?

If you are talking about true, processed biodiesel. All you do is put it in the tank.

If you are talking about running vegetable oil, such as oil from restaurants, I suggest you google that subject. You will find thousands of references and how to's. In short, the grease has to be filtered, and heated before it can go into the engine. You run a second tank for the grease, and usually use the engine heat to heat the grease. You have to start and stop the engine using regular diesel. The keys are to filter the gunk out of the grease, and the grease has to be hot when it is used. I think somewhere between 150 and 180 degrees in order to properly combust.

In my opinion all a person has to do is put a bottle of olive oil in their refrigerator over night, and it will cure their desire to run reclaimed grease in their diesel.

Not trying to be a smart alec, but there is a wealth of info out there on the subject.
