Default Xantrex Freedom 458 Inverter Gets Hot When In Use

We have a Xantrex Freedom 458 inverter that gets extremely hot while in use. Any thoughts on what the issue could be or is this normal?

Many inverters have an internal fan. Check that yours is working.
