Default 1993 390 at Parliament?

I see that Parliament Coach has listed a 1993 390 for $69k
It doesn't have a tag axle, is this a problem with carrying capacity? It does say 24.5 tires.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this model? Any specific problems to look out for?
Anyone know the previous owners?
They listed it on ebay but have it listed on their website as $69k sold as is.
Thanks,
Forest Olivier

I will let Tom respond to your question since he has a 1990 38' without a tag axle. Load carrying capacity is significantly reduced without the tag axle, especially on a 40'. It is a very attractive coach. The labeling of the coach is somewhat confusing. It is NOT coach number 390. Coach 390 is a 1995 42' 6" coach with a Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine that belongs to Richard and Rhonda. I suspect that the 390 indicates that it is actually a 39' coach rather than a 40'.

Other than the limited carrying capacity without the tag, it appears to be in nice condition, low mileage and at $69,000, one heck of a good deal assuming the drive train is in good condition and I have no reason to believe otherwise. The lowest advertised price I have previously seen on a 1993 was $87,000 on coach 329, a 42' 9" Newell on RVOnline.com.

hi forest,

i am Private messaging you my phone number so you can give me a call.

you can look at my 38' pictures on the link in my signature.

my weight is about 5k less than michaels for capacity and i have not loaded it as high as it is rated. i am not a full timer, so dont carry everything under the sun, but we travelled for 2 months last summer and it was pretty loaded and we were fine. michael has driven mine and says it is easier to scoot around corners than his and the guys at the newell factory called mine the little rocket.

i looked at a couple of 40' newells with no tags before i bought mine, they were late 80's so a different beast, but the factory said no issue with them.

give me a call. this coach is configured very close to mine other than the bath config. it is very pretty and i like it a lot. price seems like a steal, so i would be wondering why, but who knows in this market.

later

tom

Thanks Michael for clearing up the number issue. I was about to run over to the storage shed when I first read the post. :-)
