Default 110 volt compressor quit

After driving in 2 days of rain the 110 volt compressor quit working. Wondering if anyone has had similar problem so as to make a quicker repair. Now in Lenoir city Tennessee for the next 8 weeks. Also I noticed the #1 fuse under the dash on passenger side was blown, this is supposed to go to the air horn. I replaced with new fuse and it blew.
Left all the mice back in NH.

I had my 110 compressor go a few years ago and bought a new one at Granger. Then I had the other one repaired as a spare.

i replace mine through grainger as well.

mine was Gast model number 3HBB-32-M300X, grainger part number was 2Z868. that was an exact replacement. i also kept my old one but never got around to rebuilding it.

in 2008 i paid $437 plus tax, so they are pricey. they are industrial grade.

unfortunately, grainger lists them currently as discontinued.

if you go to www.grainger.com and put in their part number, it will say discontinued and there is a link to alternative models. it shows the other 1/3 hp 100psi models with similar cfm. pay attention to the sound levels in db. i was going for quiet.

they used to carry rebuild kits for ours, so you might check with them.

they are closer to $600 now and different dimensions.

nothing is cheap on our babies.

For whatever reason the compressor decided to work today. I wonder if it has something to do with the 2 days of driving in the rain. I am quite glad I don't have to go with a new one at this time anyway.

Brad, there is a pressure switch for the air compressor. Take a look at the switch, this switch is not water tight and could be the issue.
When will you be outside of Yuma?

Hi Steve, we are planning to be in Senator wash around the 24th of Dec.
I tink that maybe moisture did get into the switch.

Hi Brad! Steve tells me there is a guy who spends part of the winter in, or near Senator Wash who installs solar panel systems on RV's. I have a 1982 Newell that looks a lot like Steve's. Anyway, we will be in your area near the end of January, and were hoping to visit with this fellow and see what it would cost to install a solar panel charging system on our coach. If you have his contact information would you post it here, or send it to me via "private message"?

Hi Clarke, I can find the info you want but think you should check out this site http://www.amsolar.com/ It is a good site to learn and the fellow has his own panels made that are a little bigger but shaped especially for rv's they also produce more voltage.
You can click on Find a Dealer and see if there may be one close to you. One fellow even travels around installing and has great reviews. After checking out the site if you still need the other guy's info let me know.If you plan on being at Senator Wash the end of Jan I know he will be there, he is probably there now.
We plan on being at the Wash Dec23rd. You can call me if you want before you come out. You will probably staying in the wash area if you decide to get the job done. We could hook up and visit. I provide Wi-Fi for all that want to get on the web.

Thanks for the info Brad, the website is very educational! The one dealer in Newbury Park is about an hour's drive from where we are, so that makes sense, and the guy who travels around installing these systems sounds interesting, too. Will let you know when we will be in your area so we can get together and visit.

The WiFi access is a definite bonus!

Glad he is not far from you. I have heard a lot of good things about this guy so would be interested in how your experience goes with him. Look forward to the visit.
