Default The Quadski Amphibious all-terrain vehicle

Amphibious vehicles aren't just for James Bond anymore.

A one-person all-terrain vehicle that doubles as a personal watercraft is scheduled to go on sale by the end of this year.

The vehicle — called the Quadski — goes up to 45 miles per hour on land. To go in the water, the driver presses a button and the wheels fold into the sides in five seconds. The Quadski also goes 45 miles per hour in the water.
The Quadski will cost around $40,000. It will be sold at water sports dealerships in New York, Boston, the Great Lakes, Florida and Texas.
Michigan-based Gibbs Sports Amphibians says it has spent 16 years and $200 million developing the technology in the Quadski.

Those are pretty cool! What man doesn't dream of being James Bond? The name "Quadski" is too!

Note that these ads show that the riders are not wearing helmets. I am sensitive to this because a helmet saved my life while riding a ATV.

Chester I'm with you on the helmet idea. They do show riders with helmets in the video and on land at any higher speeds. Most people riding watercraft don't like helmets and I believe that would be more of the push on these, even though they look to perform well on land too. Interesting product. I wonder what the pricing is on something like this? I remember a neighbor back in the late sixties or early seventies having a car that could go in water, but it had props, and it sure is much nice with a hydro-jet technology nowadays.

That's pretty cool and the name fits. What do these cost?
