Default turn signals and backup camera work occasionally

Sometimes our turn signals work, sometimes not. Sometimes the backup camera works, sometimes not. Engaging the emergency flasher button for a few moments has temporarily made everything work, so we know that the individual elements all work. Has anybody else had to deal with this problem, and if so can you describe the "fix"?

Rich

I would check the ground under the dash, that is the one component they both share that would cause this issue.

If your flashers make the turn signals and lights work (often backup cameras are tied to backup lights circuit), it can be a sign of a bad or weak GROUND.

Why? Turn signals on many vehicle use the ground to switch on the turn signal lamps.

If you don't have a sufficient ground for your normal items, a turn signal can provide an alternate ground when activated. This also means more current is going through this circuit than intended, so it needs to be fixed.

Jon(MrE.) gave you a good starting point.
