Default how to set Statpowr to show remaining charge

I have a ProSine 3.0 with the Advanced Control Panel and I cannot figure out how to set the monitor to show me the remaining charge in my batteries. I would like to know when they are reduced to say 50%. I cannot seem to find the information in the Owner's Manual.

Thanks Tom. I called Xantrex and they recommended their LinkLite or LinkPro. I think I will buy the LinkPro. Let me know if you see any problem with either of these.

hi chester, the linkpro looks cool. i see a nightmare in getting it hooked up if you want the gauge on the inside of the coach. you have to have a number of wires between the batteries (both engine and coach) to the gauge to hook it up.

have you thought through how to run the wires and where the gauge would be?

if you wanted to mount the gauge in each compartment where the batteries are, then no issue.

thoughts?

Guys,

This is something that I have spent a fair amount of time thinking about.

I have a possibly really dumb question....

If you somehow modeled the voltage drop over time for a given amp draw...could you then figure out how much power is left in your batteries? I have gone as far as gathering a bunch of data points (voltage vs time for given amp loads). I am thinking that I can draw out some curves that would allow me to say...I am at 12.9 volts right now and am drawing at -14 amps so I have 6 hours until I get to 11.5V and the Xantrex goes into alarm.

Is this a crazy idea?

cheers,
bill

Tom, I have purchased the LinkPro and will now figure out where to mount it. I do not plan to monitor the engine batteries. My first thought is to mount it in the panel just inside the entry door. I'll let you know as soon as I get it and start to install it.

Tom, on April 28, you asked that I post how I installed Xantrex LinkPro. I installed the round monitor in the bulkhead above the microwave, facing the kitchen counter. I used computer ethernet cable (which has four twisted pairs), and ran it behind the microwave and pantry into the Aqua Hot compartment. Then I drilled a small hole into the battery compartment where I connected the shunt and wiring. So far, so good. It took me some study to figure out how to program the unit, but well worth it and now I can monitor the percent of charge left and am notified if I go down to 50%. I also installed and programed Tire Tracker to monitor all 12 tires. Will be in Phoenix next week so perhaps we will get a chance to chat.
