Default Does Anyone Around Here Take Advantage of Medical Tourism ?

I was sent this video regarding medical tourism, and found it rather interesting. I don't know how many of you are like me, but during my life I have verily ever had medical insurance do to being self-employed. I had wished at times I would have had it when I experienced some major injuries, but all in all I'm still alive and breathing. When my wife worked as a HR manager at a LV casino I had great coverage with only a 10% copay.

For years I kept injury and disability insurance and ironically I never had it active during three injuries, with one being life threatening. For the past decade or so, I have taken advantage of medical tourism or dental tourism and found it to be a very good value for very good service. In fact on one of my first dental trips, I had a bunch of mercury fillings from year back that were done under US health insurance.

Anyone here taken advantage of this or are you or have you considering it? I have met a few people abroad doing the same thing. If you have any reservation about the idea, than this video might help.

After reading this and seeing the video its something I think we will look into further. We have a few friends and family who have traveled to Mexico and Brazil for different medical procedures but we haven't had anything major regarding our health where we have needed to consider going out of the country in the past. I know with all the changes happening in our country that there is concern about Obamacare, what it will offer and how. Thanks for passing along this information, It sounds like medical tourism is a great way for someone who doesn't want obamacare and hey take a little vacation while you get the health care you need. Accomplishing more than one thing at a time is the way to go!

We are thinking about heading down to Mexico for some medical tourism. Just trying to decide if we should take the coach down or park it at the boarder and take a bus over?

I don't like the idea of going to the doctor as it is. But as I :cough:get older:cough: I am reminded this medical tourism may not be such a bad idea.
