Default Weight Limits Posted In Town

My town has posted signs on almost every street that say 5 ton weight limit. Even my road now has a 5 ton limit sign. Yet school buses, garbage trucks and more drive on them every day. Anyone experience this before? It's not a bridge weight safety issue it's trying to keep commercial trucks out I guess or something. It just seems ignorant to me be they are everywhere now.

Could be that they don't want a bunch of us Newell owners visiting you and lowering your neighbors property values.

Don't worry about it, Motorhomes are exempt from commercial truck limits on residential streets.

My city put up a 25,000lb weight limit on the street at the entrance to my development for about 6 months then it was replaced with one of those "No Trucks" signs.

Most signs referring to such weight limits are geared towards semi trucks.

I always wonder when I cross a bridge with 30,000 weight limit with my Newell how good was the state employee that set that bridge weight limit.
