Default overall height of newell coach?

i measured as best i could and i think mine is 13' 4" to the top of the aquahot exhaust stack.

my bus mechanic has a 14' door and was concerned looking at how tall my rig was.

hard to measure without getting on a ladder.

how tall is the tallest newell of my vintage?

thanks

tom

You are close enough that I would suggest you measure it again. I would take a piece of doweling etc. and lay it on the top, then measure both sides to the ground and there you are. I am sure that the measurement will be very close to what you already have.

Tom,
I was told by Newell that all Newells are now built to 13'3". My shop door is 14 foot also. I measured mine to the tallest point, the roof a/cs, and it is 13' 3". The newer Newells with the roof farings with built in awnings look taller, but are still 13' 3". That is tall enough for me as I go under a 13' 8" bridge going to Newell.
As I think about your coach you have the 9" raised roof and the Genset/AquaHot exhaust will extend higher. I'm with Praireschooner I'd measure it just to be sure. Let us know what you find as I'm guessing 13'3"--no taller than 13'6".

i will get my big stepladder out today and do a real measurement. i suspect 13'3 is right as my from the ground measurement was just an inch more.

thanks everyone

The reason that I suggested a real measurement is that I received a call a couple of weeks ago from a broker that I surveyed a boat for. He was asking for extra pictures of the boat showing the condition of the decks and instrument arch on the day of my inspection.
He reported that the driver of the truck delivering the boat had hit the overhead at a gas station. The boat was badly damaged to the aluminum instrument arch and foredeck from the contact to a tune of about $15,000.00.
Actual measurements are priceless

2 -3" can be lost if your coach is parked with air bags leveled , I did that , than i remember if i drive and put in Travel mode than I am higher by few inches!

Somthing to think about!

I decided to meausre mine today. I am getting ready to travel places I have never been so decided it was a good time. My rig sits on a concrete pad so I think I did a good job of getting it right, but I'm sure an inch or two of error could have crept in there somehow. As with Tom, my highest non-flexible protrusion is the Aqua-Hot/Generator stack, with the vents and Winegard a close second. I measured 13' 6" as the required clearance I need. I think I will set the profile in the GPS at 13' 9" and hope to get routed around anything less.

Which brings to mind a story about lift bridges in our area.....They continued to open for boat traffic and blocked auto traffic for hours each day. After proposing new taller bridges that could remain open for auto traffic, our councilman suggested digging the canal deeper!!!!true story....I didn't vote for him.......
