Barry,
Thank you for the great tip on using 12" ruler under the slide out ! It makes sense whay would stick down under , than say at teh top , when is pulled out I think there are so much wait distribution and other factor where the frame is under that it would make sense to always check under! Funny but with our 26' Rv we never had that problem becouse there was cheap seal if any! haha! so nothing was in teh way!
Steve & Richard ,
Its make sense now to me to pulled out the fridge nad checked and cleaned all teh back elements and go from there! if nothing happen than next step call teh local repair guy ( its house hold product so any good repair guy should be able to work on it ) if that is not repirable , third step is to buy it new one!

Thank you again for informative tips! We love our coach , jut need to get some of the wrinkles fix before head on the road , litlle frustrated becouse we just bough it and had few good size peoblems with ! but again , I call RV big bombs on wheels !

This past weekend I took my grandson (11) and 2 of his little buddies camping. When we were ready to come home, I retracted the front slide and then tried to retract the bedroom slide. It wouldn't come in!

To make a long story short, something jambed behind the valance and the fan pod above the bed. When I would retract the slide the top of the slideroom would come in about 2 inches and then "hang up" while the bottom of the slide would come in about 6 inches.

Finally after trying many things I got it to come in by holding down on the valance while someone pressed the retract button.

When I dig a little deeper into this problem tomorrow, I'll post what I find.

how does allegro put it - roughing it smoothly!

Well today we removed the valance and everything looked normal. Upon further inspection we noticed the problem.

There is a flat metal V shaped strip that is screwed to the slideroom top. In the middle of that V shaped strip there is a 2" x 1/4" piece of angle iron welded. The purpose of this angle iron is to add strength for the roof. It slides up under another piece of metal plate that is welded to the slideroom ceiling.

My problem was that this angle iron somehow was bent upwards slightly and it would jamb when the slideroom was retracted. When we pulled down on the valance that in turn pulled the angle iron down just enough to clear the plywood.

We removed the V shaped strip of metal and put it in a vice and hammered the angle iron to more of a 90 degree angle. That did it!

Hope this may help anyone who has a similar problem.

Those angle irons get bent and twisted a little by gravity everytime you put the slide in or out. The same thing happens with the house battery lower drawer.

Has this happened to anyone else - the slideroom getting jambed by the angle iron brace?

Tuga, In my earlier post ( Original problem ) it was same part angle iron 90 Degree bracket , this one was under the slide room frame , I did not see it since I was working while my wife was watching them fix it!it happened due to lifing the front longes slideout, since then I bought some 6x4 stock wood and have two massive pump jacks , if my seal ever pup out I will be set to lif it, I remember whenthe newell serviced our slide due to fluid line burst , they had two big jacks and they ajcked up both sides even , I think that is the best way to do it and avoiding bending any parts inside! but again i dont know for sure!

Will run the engine today and slide outs and will wax it under slides ( NASCAR drivers trick on Newells slides ) than some windex and powder! You got to baby thet slide! haha!! Happy Holidays everyone!

Tom.

ha-ha that's funy! smells like baby! I did same thing to our coach put wax under the slides and also use som B powder, so far slides are movibg in & out just fine! lets hope it works! small trick but it helps bit in the slide's frame , We slao use spatula and go after the seal & make sure won't stick out! Cheryl would pull out about 2 imches while i use spatula under each slide ! we learned hard and $$ lesson so its worth it to make regular procedure each time we slide out! Recently I noticed that when I stand inside between the permanent floor and the dropdown floor , I can hear the pup and play in the nfloor! wonder when they work on our slide somthing got bend or not tight! not sure ? but started to bug me! my wife is light weight and she can feel it !

Well once again my seal came out.... I almost think my slide has moved or something causing it to come out. I has used it a few times since it came out last time. Well, off to Newell this week to see if they can see something I don't!
