Default Tag axle help! Do I chain one or both?

Say, I'm driving down the road and boom a steer tire blows. I have everything I need to switch a tag wheel to the front and mount the blown steer onto the tag. If this happens I know I have to chain up the tag but what about the tag on the opposite side? Should I leave one down with the airbag inflated or chain it up?

Archie

I would call roadside assistance instead.

That said, I don't know if just chaining up the side without the wheel and tire on it would give you enough clearance to keep it from dragging. Don't forget that driving with the tag with air dumped will significantly lower the rear of the coach as the extra 10,000 pounds is now transferred to the drive axle. Since Newells do not have lifting tag axles, chaining the tag up is not easy. You would need to dump the air in the tag, put blocks under the tags, back up and drive the tags onto the blocks, dump the rear suspension and chain the axle up as tight as you can.
