Default slide locking pin bushings

i have just started suing my 02 after doing some updating and repairing of it for some time. i have to admit i was a little disappointed as to how much noise there was when i drove it. most particularly was a loud rattling coming from the slide areas.

for those of you without slides, you will be glad to not have to fiddle with them.

in my mind it sounded like the slide locking ;pin at the top reattling inside the locking hole in the slide that keeps the slide in when retracted.

i was trying to figure out what i could do to fix it. when i got to newell and they worked on it on tuesday, i asked them about it and told them i thought it was the slide pin rattling around. they quickly said yes it was and that there was rubber bushings in the holes they could replace and it would fix it. i had been up there and there was NO rubber bushings in mine. evidently one of two things happens. either they come out and fall off or they just plain wear out and fall apart and come out over time and use.

they scrapped out what was left and inserted the new bushings and then used the slide itself to have the locking pin further compress it into the holes.

it made a HUGE difference in noise inside the coach. now the slides are quiet and i can begin looking for the rest of the noises that happen when we travel.

i got 4 spare bushings and they put them in the sack that had the part number on it from hwh so you will see that in the picture.

thought those of you with slides might be interested in this info.
