Default AquaHot annual service

Just completed my annual service that included a new fuel filter, new burner nozzle and adjusting electrodes. A reminder to any one who is over a year since your last service to get ready for cooler temperatures. It is a fairly simple task that takes just a couple of hours. If any one wants to do it themselves and needs instructions I have a set that were prepared by Roger Berke a AquaHot servicer.

Richard,
These are three brands and numbers that are the same & interchangeable. Racor R26T/LuberFiner LFF 8061/Fleetguard FS 1247. I have used all three. My genset uses the same fuel filter as the secondary filter.

Perfect,

I'll put the numbers in my phone, it's the only way I can remember stuff when I'm in a parts store. Good to know it's the same filter as the gennie. Good chance mine is too.

Yep, just checked the phone, it's the same as the gen filter. Cool !

It has come to my attention that I missed one step that I wasn't aware of when I performed my annual service. The mixing valve needs to be exercised annually. It sits directly under the burner unit, hence the need to do it during service when you already have the burner unit out. The valve has a plastic round knob that I could touch, but not turn without removing the burner. To exercise the mixing valve mark the knob, turn as far as it will go in both directions and then return the knob to the original position. If the valve knob will not turn then the valve is bad and needs to be replaced. The good news is that you can replace just the guts. I'll post a couple of pictures that I got off Roger Burke's web site-http://forum.rvhydronicheaterrepair.com/forum.php

it is a standard watts 70a 1/2" mixing valve. mine is stuck so i bought a complete valve for cheaper than the kit that has just the kits in it.

it is on my todo list.

very key point and good idea to do.
