here are pictures of my wheels after polishing. used bluemagic with a wool polishing drill on a drill. you can buy bluemagic for 6 bucks a jar at autoparts stores. i also did all my chrome bay door latches. it is what my detailer uses so i figured that what i would use. i found my guy from wally and used him and then went and bought the stuff he used.

I'm never sure whether to take ICANDCO seriously....does he own a Newell, or is he just trying to peddle some products?

tom where are the Before Photos ?
Very easy to show the finish product.
-
If your detailler did that job why would you have to do-it again ?

i didnt take them before, i didnt think of it till after. also the pictures dont do them justice. dull before and almost like chrome after.

aluminum does dull over time, so you have to keep up on them before they dull all the way. i bought the same supplies as the detailer and i did the bay door latches and other pieces on the coach.

i will touch up the wheels occassionally so they dont get bad again,

I’ve added a link, professional people with a step by step post from a forum with other
help in polishing.

There are other members that might like to know exactly what to do and don’t have a
clue in polishing !
-
You’ve got a problem with that ? Wow . . .
-
I’m trying to peddle or sell stuff ? . . Please don’t start rumors !
-
What about the product that encantotom speaks off, "Bluemagic" is-he trying to, as you
state, peddle stuff ?

There are other members on this board, 484 members at this time, don’t try to do
damage to this board or forum members !

Blue majic happens be sold in all truck stops in the country and used by most truckers that want shiney wheels. It's cost effective, easy to use and shines better than anything thats on the market.
I seen Tom's wheels before and after because I happened to spend the winter about 6 miles from his home and recommended the guy that did the work on his wheels. I always do my own but when I arrived I was busy and this guy did them for $10.00 per wheel and I seen that he used blue majic which I had been using for 10 years or more.
It is my opinion that Icando is a whackball who probably does not own a Newell and seems to try and cause problems on this site with its members and our ideals.

Icando if you own a Newell let us know what it is and join the group in a sensible way and stop the nonsence. We are serious about our vehicles and try and help each other keep them going without the desire of using or installing any of the extragavant items that you have been displaying.

Thats my opinion and I'm sticking with it,
Wally Arntzen

The ALCOA wheels on my '82 showed oxidation and were Dull when we started. I used the smaller Mothers PowerBall and Mothers Aluminum Polish. This was fairly painless and did a fantastic Job.
Here is a link to the Mini PowerBall;

Here is a link to the Mag Polish;

Blue Magic is great just that Napa didn't have it. The PowerBall goes on a Drill and makes this job allot easier, unless of course you can find someone else to polish your Wheels.

I just followed the link from Ikcandco and guess what, it is a Topkick in the photo and not even a Newell!?!
I suspect that Wally is right about this guy.

i saw the mothers polishing ball at autozone but they wanted 20 bucks for it and i was too cheap.

i ordered 3 of these wool ones for about the same price and used them. after some hard use they came unglued from the cone, but i used a generous batch of jb weld and clamped them overnite and they stayed together after that.

so, it is whatever works. shiney is shiney......

I hope it is OK to add this as I am not a Newell owner. I use SimiChrome imported from Germany, the finest metal polish in the world. I have used it for years. I polish my wheels twice per year, maybe, sometimes. It takes about one hour. It will even polish and restore dull plastic light covers. Good stuff, not cheap.

howdy Leroy, great to have you posting.

man....that is expensive stuff. i think you ought to drive to mesa and have a look at my floor and then do my wheels to compare! eh?

have you tried any of the cheaper polishes to compare to the stuff you use?

i am not loyal to any brand of polish. i took the easy way out and used what wally and the detailer used.

i have seen pictures of Leroy's Bluebird and it is a beauty!

Leroy helped me determine what type of anti-fracture membrane to put under my granite. he was 100% right on what to do and i followed it to a T.

thanks Leroy!

Hey Tom. Your floor looks great. It should stay together without issues.

I have tried about everything on the market on aluminum, except Black Magic. I stumbled upon SimiChrome in my earlier days when I was a lot crazier than I am now. I used to do aerobatics in a 1946 Globe Swift, Polished aluminum. I used Never Dull, Mothers and others and it worked me to death, nearly. Of course I polished the Swift under a Black light. Picky. I also found that SimiChrome's claim of leaving a protective film is accurate. In the foggy SoCal mornings leaving the basin on instruments acidic polluted water would streak the newly polished plane. I would then have to touch up polish when I got where I was going. After using SimiChrome I found a damp cloth removed the residue as the moisture did not attach the aluminum. Time saved, more time between polishings. More time for beer.

I just applied F-21 polmer to half of my coach today, an annual affair. I wiped down the wheels with a damp cloth and noted a slight amount of activity beginning. I polished my wheels last June. I will do them again this week. As a side note, when I was boring holes in the sky I purchased a case of SimiChrome, that was in the late 80's, early 90's. I am still working on the last can. It should last another 2 years or so. I also used those same cans to restore the plastic face guard on speedometer clusters of old late 60's and early 70's Mopar's. It works on plexiglass and lexan also. I use it on the annodized aluminum awning covers and chrome on my coach. While it will not polish the annodized awnign covers it keeps them clean longer. It will work on flat surface tail lights as long as the oxidation is on the outside. All the crud an little scratches vanish. I have a full set of 90 Bluebird tail and back up lights off my LED conversion that look new, restored with SimiChrome; stored just in case some future owner wants the original set up. Just be careful not to get it hot when working on plastic.

See ya , sorry it took so long.

Welcome Leroy!!!

Small world, I lived in Cornelia, Ga. for 15 years working for JNJ before I was expatriated to Tejas.

Lots of interchangeable knowledge between BB's and Newells. Post often, your hands on knowledge is welcome.

more time for beer? I am going to buy some of that SemiChrome as long as I can find it in Southern California (it seems as though anything like that that works becomes unavailable here)

Thanks folks.
For those interested I believe this is the importer. I bought direct from them years ago. Their name is on the can.
