View Full Version : Air pressure switch adjustment

The 110v air compressor in my coach would come on at 70psi and cut off at 100psi. I thought this was too low since the door, generator slide, etc. were slow to operate. Today I adjusted the pressure switch to come on at 90psi and cut off at 118psi. I made an adapter with a piece of 1/4" air line and added a quick connect on the other end. I dumped all of the air out of the coach system and removed the air line from the pressure switch. I attached the adapter then plugged the other end into my portable shop compressor. I was then able to use the regulator to see where the start/cut off settings were while I adjusted the 2 screws on the pressure switch. Worked out pretty good.

where my 110v compressor is, i have a airchuck port plumbed in. i have a air gauge with a male connector on it and i just plug it in there to monitor the pressures.

My air compressor comes on at 60 psi and goes off at 90 psi. All of my equipment that is air operated works properley at those settings. I think that something is wrong with your installation. Your compressor can run that high but you are working it to the hilt.

specs on the GAST 110 v compressor i have in my coach, that matches the original that was installed by newell. i did put this in new in 2008.

Check the Air Pressure at the Device that is giving you trouble to know exactly what is happening when. You may simply have dry Air Cylinders. Items like those typically need a little lubricant in order to operate properly otherwise there could be Galling at the Cylinder Wall and Piston or even a build up of Junk at the Piston Seal.
