While we were at Desoto state park Cindy commented the cold water was pretty hot (anything to keep me from getting bored). The electric compartment heater over the water tank was running. It seems the Dayton thermostat shorted out, so I unwired it to get it to turn off. I just pulled it and am getting continuity at all temp. positions. So I guess I'll have to replace it. Does anyone know where is the best price and if there is another brand that works as well?

I had the same problem last January. Lowe's had the Honeywell CT410B for $20. I replaced all 4 & have not had a problem over the last 2 winters.

do make sure you get one that has an OFF position. or the thermostat will come on when you dont want it to.
