Were going to try our luck with the ole'74 and go to the International FMCA Rally in Redmond, OR stopping by Crater Lake. Looks like about 3000 mile round trip... anyone going..Advise... this sould be the real test...

Jimmy, you'll enjoy that trip. I know that route like the back of my hand. And the roads are usually pretty good all the way. You might not want to go home. lol

What's the date and times for the rally this year?

Just checked FMCA online, and it is August 11-14, 2010. Would love to go, but our one long trip this year will be to Santa Fe, NM.

If we are still out here at that time we will go, but doubt we can last that long in the northwest......wet and windy.

we're thinking of it. just not sure about our schedule since dates have recently been changing. Oregon should be fun that time of the year.

The Redmond area is right next to Bend and it is high desert with a dry arid climate. They usually get 300 plus days of sunshine a year. It will more than likely be in the 90's in August. It's located on the east side of the Cascade mountain range. This is where people from the west side escape the rain. Depending on where you are, there are a lot of lakes, tall pines and great fishing just for starters.;)

It's probably a little early in the season to be anywhere along the Oregon coast...it does get better!

JImmy - sounds like you've about finished. She's much too nice to part with. Good luck on your trip. Anything west of the Mississippi might as well be Mars to me. I'd like to do that one day.
