What is switch with red light under sink for?

Hello everyone I hope all is well with you and your families! I hope to get this question answered. I found a switch under the sink which a red light turns on when switched but cannot figure what it is for. Anyone want to venture what it is please? Thank you Robert

If you have a garabage disposal it may be for that. If it is and on or off does not do anything there is a reset button on the backside or bottom of the disposals, check it out.

I am just taking a guess here but could it have something to do with the alarm system?
