My '92 Newell uses a manual transfer switch controlled from the overhead cabinet above the driver. I was experiencing periods where I would start the generator, let it stabilize, flip the transfer switch to Generator and no power would come on in the coach. The problem was intermittent. Sometimes I would get power and sometimes I wouldn't.

I finally was able to trace the problem to a failing Transfer Switch Interlock. A Transfer Switch Interlock is located on the side of each of the larger contactors in the transfer box. They insure that power is only received from one source, either shore power or generator. The part is available from Newell and is very easy to change out. It is much more reasonably priced (about $40) than the transfer contactors (which are over $200 each).
