We are looking hard at the 2005-2008 years and I see most seem to be 45ft. Is that the only length they are built in for those years? A lot of them seem to be quad slide or triple slide. We have decided we want slides and from what we've read the triple slide would be better than the quad. I would assume the coach has to be longer if you are trying to squeeze in four slides. Are there any coaches in the 2005-2008 years that are shorter with at least three slides? Or do they only build them as 45 footers?

Tom,

Most Newells made within the years you are looking at will be 45'. I don't think it matters much if they are a little shorter for quad slides. Newell does make a 47' coach if you want something a little bigger. Newell will build any size you want starting at 40' up to 47' (I could be wrong on the 40' length Michael Day please jump in here).

Personally I like the 45' it is perfect for my uses. And I think it is by far the most popular length; so at re-sale time you are spot on.

Your best source of information would be Newell Coach in Miami, OK.

Since 2000, most of the Newells have been 45'. Tuga is correct that a few were built in other lengths since Newell's philosophy is 'as long as it is possible , we will build what the customer wants'. I have seen a handful of 40' Newells made since 2000 (something like a half dozen total, I have been told). There is very little price difference between a 42' and a 45' so most folks go for the 45' (actually 45'8"). There are states where the legal limit is longer so, Newell has made 47' coaches. I have seen a couple of them. They are BIG. I heard that Newell was not building the 47' any longer but I suspect that if you wanted one and could show it was legal in you state/country of registration, they would still build one.

I was parked next to a 47' at the factory once; we were even in the front of the service bay but he was 2' longer in the back. It is like Michael said they are BIG. I got to talking to the guy and he invited me inside to see it. He posed the question to me when we were discussing the length; " If you had to cut 2' out of this coach where would you cut"?

I laughed because my answer was, I can't see any area that I would want to cut!

I would love to have a 47' with the turning tag axle. That would be a great combination!

I agree Tuga! 47' is on my dream list. With the turning tag, I'm not sure you could tell much different in the 2'. And if you can turn our coaches now, surly you could one of those! Lol
