We have the opportunity to purchase a 2001 Newell Coach for a great price from a relative who lives in another state--the only issue is it has 108k miles. What is considered to many miles and are there any areas I should be concerned with?

Thank You,

Jon Ghiles

That like 9k per year? Doesn't sound like a lot. Unless it was just a grocery getter....

I would not be hesitant to consider a 2001 with 108k miles. I doubt you will ever wear it out if you travel like the majority of us do. However, you may want to take it to a Detroit shop and have it checked out on their computer.

I'm close to 300,000 on our 94 and the Series 60 just keeps purring along.

Buy it Jon! A series 60 DD is a million mile engine. So you have about 892,000 miles left over. At 20,000 miles per year, you could drive it for another 44.6 years.

How old are you?

Ditto. It's just getting broken in. But it's always a good idea. to have a detroit shop take a look. When we bought our Newell we had a mechanic. go with us before we made the deal final. As you can see by what others said. Newells were built to travel!
