Can you run a computer directly off a generator with no voltage problems?

Thanks

If it is a laptop you should not have a problem. If it is a desktop, I would use a Kill-A-Watt to make sure your voltage and frequency are appropriate and holding steady but if they are then it should be OK. A lot of different generators have been used in Newells over the years and are in a variety of mechanical conditions now. If the generator is working properly, it should provide good frequency and voltage but use of a good surge protector is always a good preventive measure.

Absolutely you can even run it off an inverter. My wife ran her Apple Mac off our modified sine inverter and it ran just the same

I wonder if there would be a problem with a desktop but I wouldn't worry with a laptop. I expect the newer desktop power supplies are pretty rugged too.
