I plan to spend some time near Port Isabel & South Padre Island this winter. I need a crown replaced and we would like to have our teeth cleaned. I would appreciate any assistance on how to find a good reputable Dentist in Mexico near this area. Do you need to make appointments and how do you pay? Our local Dentist wants about $900.00 for the crown work and I'm wondering what that type of work costs in Mexico.

Thank you in advance,

Sean

Hello Sean. We had awsome work done at Algodones Mexico last winter. We paid $170 USD for a crown and $35 for a cleaning. I myself had 18 crowns, inplants and other work done with great results. They took cash or personal cheques. Not in the area you are going to be but a good guideline. I can forward name of dentist if interested.

I second about the Dentists in Algodones, Mexico. Patti had some work done and the price was about $125.00 or so for the Crown but I am not sure about the other prices. Yuma, AZ is great in the winter and a short drive to Algodones.

So many folks rave about how clean and cheap it is to get dental work done down there. Never have been over the boarder for that sort of visit but I am sure there are a lot of folks that can offer some details and heads up. Good luck!

I have know several people, mostly self employed who go to Mexico for their dental work and most have been real happy. I mentioned this option to a couple of different dentist here in the states, with two different responses; the one dentist didn't liked the idea saying, "people come back from down there after surgeries having objects left in them", while a different dentist from Comfort Dental told me she recommends the options for the frugal minded stating, have your regular checkups and maintenance done locally, and have things like root canals, crowns and bridges done in Mexico.

I have had major work done the last couple of times overseas, along with several other family members. I figure a savings that could be applied as a nice down payment on my next Newell.

Had a procedure done there a couple years ago and the work was great. My wife and I are planning on returning for some more dental work either this fall or winter depending on our calender.

I am only speaking from last years experiance in Algodones Mexico. Just outside of Yuma Az. You can Park your coach or car in the provided parking area and it is just a 5 minute walk into Mexico from there. Every dental office spoke english. Usually the main dentist, the front end assistant and possibly one other depending on the size of office.
