central vacuum system in coach?

can anyone tell me what year they started putting a central vacuum in the newell coaches? what brand is it? if you have one do you use it? was this an extra option or is this a standard feature? so many question thanks yall.

Not sure what year they came standard or could be ordered. The first one I have seen on any of Newell data is 2001. But many have been updated since then. I'll do some more checking in my literature archive. Personally I have only seen two designs actually made just for RV's. I have owned both types.

I have installed an RV 2000 Maxum HP by Vacuflo in my second Newell and it was fairly easy to do and I really liked the little unit. The company was bought out by Dirt Devil and this is the new model number #CV950LE, it runs on 120v and it needs about 1500 watts if inverting.

My 77 coach has a built-in vacuum and we use it regularly. I'm guessing it was there from year one. It is located under the sink with the outlet just above floor level by the icemaker. The hose stores under the entry stairs.

Hey Jon, would you be inclined to take a photo(s) of your vacuum system to share? Not a big deal if its not convenient for you. Just be nice to compare any systems out

there. I'm looking for pictures of the vacuum systems I had on one of my coaches so I can upload them to share. I lost a lot of photos on an older computer that had

crashed from a virus and I'm going through doing a restore on the old HD, a lot of stuff won't be recoverable and wish I would have shared them in the past on here.

I'm curious to see what Newell may have put in or a past owner on that vintage of Newell?

Mine has a standard RV model Royal that is mounted across from my invertor below the frig. I don't use it as the hose is a pain/ I have a Bissell Stick that works fine and is cordless

since you don't use the one that is standard in your coach. would it be a good idea to dismount it and remove it to take advantage of some extra space for storage?

We have thought about installing a Dirty Devil, but since we are looking at buying another coach in the near future we figured we'll wait. We use one of the Bissell 2 in 1 stick design vacuums and its cordless. The dyson looks like a quality product and a little more compact. I have already warranteed the Bissell once.

It is not heavy, and works well. We have a central vac in our house and Chris prefers to use the Dyson. We bought ours a Costco, they throw in additional attachments (in bold).
