I was informed that if you own a motor home that you could claim them as a second home on your taxes and get an exemption from it.
If this is true, could someone please tell me how this works?

I think the only thing you can claim is the interest payments.

Forest is correct,
You can claim the interest payed on your Motor home as a deduction on both federal and state returns.

You can only claim the INTEREST paid - assuming you took a loan out to buy the rig! NOT the cost of the rig.

We use our rig in our biz and do itemize deductions and include a percentage of fuel, repair, upgrade and maint costs. We do not try to claim it as a hotel room expense, home office or second home.

Yes, your Newell qualifies as a second home. A good accountant will be able to help you, they can answer all your questions.

Ours is a mobile office. My tax guy says we can also get depreciation.
