I need a new microwave. The question I have is about the circuit breaker. It is a 15amp. Can I run a 1000 watt microwave oven on it? originally was a 900? I do not want to damage our coach.

My 1000 watt microwave (Sharp) is rated at 13 amps. A 15 amp breaker should work without issues.

House type microwaves, such as those used in our Newell's are designed with 15 amp plugs (Parallel blades) designed to run on a 15 amp circuit if my mind serves correctly.

Some industrial types may need 20 amp, but house units are designed for 15 amp outlets.

That said.... If the batteries are low in the RV or if you have other loads active (IE: Fridge, Water heater, AC) you may trip the breaker. No damage, just no power.
