M-1 KVH In-Motion Sattellite System

Just installed an inmotion KVH TracVision M-1 Satellite System

Since I've never used it before, I have no clue how.

I'll be mainly travelling in the US. Do I have to contact a service provider there to pay for service.

Or does it happen by magic (assuming I can figure out how to line it up).

You have to contact DirecTv or Dish Network and sign up for service. DirecTv has yearly plans but Dish has monthly plans. You will have to learn how to operate the dish to obtain a signal once you have an account.

In addition to your dish, you'll also need a suitable receiver for the service you choose. Receivers that work on the Dish Network for instance, will not work with DirecTV or Bell Canada. The service you select may have a deal that supplies the receiver in return for an extended contract, or you can buy one outright from a number of sources.
