Getting our ducks in a row here...With our 5th wheel we had a list but with an actual motorhome we know that list will be different.

Anyone have a checklist they go by before they hit the road in their coach?

One should never underestimate the importance of a pre departure walk around. :)

And if you feel rushed pulling in or out, STOP, take a few deep breaths, do another walkaround and DON'T leave until you feel like everything is ready to go.

Make a list, And check it twice!

Before you head out and hit the road, walk around your coach twice to check everything. You'll be amazed at how many times you notice something wrong the second time around!

Great departure checklist. Before you leave you always want to do a quick walk through to make sure everything is secure. Before you drive off make sure all doors are locked, drawers are closed and all things on the table or counters of been put away. Check the refrigerator that it's closed and locked tight. If you do this you will be less likely to have a big mess and food flying everywhere! :cursing: (It's happend to me!)

A short checklist is a good idea and will make life a little easier. The one above is a good one.

You will also want to check the fire extinguishers, smoke alarm, carbon monoxide and LP gas leak detector.

Check all your appliances, electric and gas, for proper operation.

Inspect the operation of your awning and check the awning fabric and make sure it's secure and latched.

Preventive maintenance is using common sense and you'll continue to learn and figure it out as you take more and more trips. If you find a problem before it exists you can take care of it before it could turn into a disastrous problem.

I highly recommend getting a good road map so you don’t have to rely strictly on your GPS.
