How do you keep the area around your campsite liveable during the evening when it seems as if every blood sucking insect is H...bent on devouring any warmblooded critter (including human beings) within a 2 county area?

Bugs, bugs, and more bugs are beginning to "bug" me in my effort to enjoy sitting outside our MH in the evening........

Tried citronella, all kinds of "bug catchers", dang near drowned myself in Deet and other kinds of repellants.......

What works for you?

Wear long sleeves or keep a fan on you at night.

At least you can see a mosquito.

It is the black flies and "no see ums" which cause me the most anguish.

Those glow in the dark mosquito bracelets work great. I like them because you don't have to spray and smell all that junk.

I hate the buggers! Tea Tree with water works for a natural gig. Burn the candles they work great!

Well being from south Louisiana where the mosquito is our state bird, my technique is to MOVE! If there are mosquitoes, I'm not far away from home.

Garlic, lots of garlic. Garlic extract pills. Minced garlic. Roasted garlic. Garlic powder.

I don't attract the skeeters. I enjoy garlic and it really seems to help. I use lots of mouthwash and IT really seems to help. My wife seems to love me anyway.

I don't have that much of a problem with those darn skeeters like my wife does. Some say it is because I drink beer.

After having a bout with West Nile Virus two years ago, I just let them bite. Doc says I can't get it again! This is not a recommendation to try to get the virus, just my own personal experience!

Try "The bug patch"

Benefits of using the Bug Patch:

Convenient – Use any time, anywhere.
No smelly spray or residue.
The anti-inflammatory agent in thiamin inhibits the allergic reaction to insect bites.

What had me sold on them is they are DEET free and it works for not just the Mosquitoes but horse flies, ticks and chiggers!

Have you tried the mosquitoe coils? They kill and repel mosquitoes and other flying insects. They burn for about six hours.
