true cost of adding solar panels to our newell coach

I haven't really paid a lot of attention to discussions here on solar panels, but I'm at the point where I'd like solar to keep the batteries topped up while dry camping. A solar supplier last week quoted (ball parked) ... gulp ... $1,800 for a panel, controller and display, and I quickly lost interest. That's way too rich for me and for what I need. My past fleeting glances in Camping World revealed panels and controllers for a lot less money.

Can anyone tell me what I really need, approx what I should expect to pay, and where to buy?

If you're pretty handy they are pretty easy to install. But you will be working on top of your coach quite a bit if you're comfortable with that. I installed mine and they work great.
That will save you probably more than half of the cost of a system.
