This coach has some interesting styling cues.http://www.parliamentmotorcoach.com/images/parliamentmotorcoach/VP2941098_4_large.jpg

I have been thinking it is probably a mid-nineties since it does not appear to have slides. Very well equipped and appears to have a 4 door Dometic refer opposite of the counter. Look like nice window treatments, nicer than most early nineties Newell's. For being mostly white, I like it!

12-04-2012, 06:32 PM
Andrew, are you saying this coach looks more like a Prevost and don't think it's a Newell? I was thinking it looks a lot like a Newell but does have some interesting cues as Ken stated.

Ken, you're not going to tell us it's a '86 Newell or something that's had a complete makeover are you?

afrench45
12-04-2012, 07:02 PM
Im sticking with its a Prevost....
Has rope lights around the windows....common for Prevost but very rare on a Newell (however they are all custom), its not a mid entry- Im not aware of a front entry newell prior to 04ish? The cabinets just look different than a Newell to me.

I may be completely wrong, just have a feeling on this one!

I'd say it's a 90's year coach.

12-04-2012, 11:23 PM
So, we got a little attention on this one. Interesting answers by the way.

Andrew, you updated you answer a little? Did you change your thoughts?

Pyle, if I told you, you were right and that it is a 1986 Newell; would you believe me?

afrench45
12-04-2012, 11:28 PM
After looking closer.....I see that it does not have the flush mount windows like a Prevost would have, so it must be a Newell. They did an excellent job with the interior!

86loco
12-05-2012, 01:53 AM
Ken, if that happens to be an '86 I might make a mess in my drawers! It looks like a Newell but don't see a side entry? Is that the catch? Andrew your right, it definitely would not fit the window style of a Prevost XL-2. Boy am I curious.

I don't know when Newell built the first front entry coach, but I'm betting it's one of those, around 2000! Should we have a contest? Winner getting a free air leak check-up?

ccjohnson
12-05-2012, 03:41 PM
My guess is mid eighties with a new make-over.

Neweller
12-05-2012, 04:58 PM
Larry W, that is a good idea, where are our sponsors when we need them? I don't know about a free air leak check-up, but I would be willing to throw in a custom ball cap if that would work?

Some of you guys are taking a step on the wild side. LOL! Got to love those giving a stab at it.

OK, I'll throw in an invite to enjoy our hospitality at the 12 hours of Sebring next March, to the winner who comes closest to the proper year of the coach. You won't find better food anywhere. We need to place a time limit as I am dying to find out!

I throw a guess, 1996 Newell ?

Spitz

I've been just studying these luxury coaches recently and have been thinking it was a '96 as well but maybe a show coach? Though my guess will be a '97.

Ok gents, you're starting to warm things up around here. Some great try's coming in and I'm anxious to share the results, but I would like to see a little more beef and less chickens around here.

Larry, I like your style and want to throw in a little more enticement to the den of wolves. I'll give away a $100.00 fuel gift card to help out with a little diesel to help out with that March run to Sebring! So, the person that gets the year and details right by Sunday at midnight wins an; Invite to 12 Hours of Sebring, a $100.00 Fuel Gift Card and a Super Nice Custom Ball Cap to shade your eyes and face during the racing action.

Hopefully that is a fair deal?

Boy do I feel stupid, that's my 1986 Newell prior to some of my latest interior upgrades rollinglol

12-08-2012, 05:15 PM
Jon, shssss! Don't sell me out like that. I am hoping some additional brave souls will share some knowledge. If not, I may have to take that offer for 12 hours of Sebring. If were talking close up viewing, then like my oldest boy used to say; I'm down with that!

Now what if someone guesses the same as another and it ends up being correct who gets the fuel card? Both?? I ask because I was going to guess 96' which is the same as a previous poster.

12-09-2012, 02:44 PM
I'm just going to make my guess. Nothing prideful here. I said it was a mid nineties which was not an exact year so hopefull I got it right being a 1999.

Neweller
12-09-2012, 09:48 PM
I don't know how many invites from Larry W. are available to the 12 hours of Sebring, that part is up to him. But for anyone that gets the year right on this coach whether there is one of ya or 10 of ya, I'll cover the fuel card and the custom ball caps.

Starvin Marvin
12-10-2012, 01:17 AM
I would love to attend the 12 hours of Sebring and happily pay the way but I want that fuel card to offset my beverage expense. ha ha ha! The year I believe it is a 1997 with one bedroom slide. The slide is just a crazy wild guess so don't count me in on that idea just the year.

Ken are you making the announcement at midnight or tomorrow?

larryweikart
12-10-2012, 01:56 AM
Well, let's just allow the ties to show up at Sebring and I will offer all some nice snacks and some beer/wine refreshments. Love to meet fellow Newellers. Of course you must wear your Caps that Ken has offered! Good Luck!

I wanted to thank everyone who participated in trying to guess what the year and details of this coach is. You guys are awesome!

Unfortunately no one got the exact year, which really surprises me. I know of at least one honest cheater who through discovery found out some interesting details about this coach and informed me this morning. I never thought it would turn into a contest, but that made it fun for a lot of you great members, even if you didn't play along.

My hat's off to Larry W. for helping make this more fun by introducing the contest idea. Actually I should say "Hat's On" for Larry W.! He is a great fellow Neweller and Luxury Coach Owner and definitely deserves a "Luxury Coach Lifestyle" custom embroidered ball cap. They are under design right now and will be ready upon our approval. These will be super nice and the highest quality fitted style. I hate cheap hats.

My question at this point is; has anyone else done a little homework and want to spill the beans on any details here, besides our guy from spud country, before I deliver the expose' on this wonderful coach that started this whole thread?

Oh, I have not forgot about the rest of you whom participated. Let me ponder on that. Thank you!

Neweller
12-10-2012, 03:38 PM
The actual year of this coach is a 1998. So, many of you were very close. And to be honest, since it is somewhat distinguished from the average Newell for example it earned some interesting critiquing.

I thought the window treatment and cabinet hardware gave it a date in the 90's for sure. I just didn't know when Newell started the front entry door on the 2000 series. It was interesting to have the contest. Maybe there's another in the future?

12-11-2012, 03:57 PM
Larry, I've been gradually giving hints on this coach, hoping someone will be able to identify why the odd peculiarities on this rascal. It will all make more sense soon. The little contest brought out the actual year of the coach and now I'm helping along everyone's determination to finding out why there are these peculiar distinguishing oddities like having a front entry door on a 1998 luxury coach?

:o You have got to be kidding, right? rollinglol Another contest? I didn't think you folks were up for that. Honestly, I love contests and the site would love to offer one from time to time. In fact, with some help, I would be willing to put something much larger together if folks were halfway excited about it. Some might think anything of the sort is craziness, but hey I'm out of my mind anyways.

We have a couple big players whom would boost something like this if the interest is there. Maybe some free tires or tanks of diesel???? or ????? Anyone interested?

Folks, we will start working on ideas for more contest as with some sponsors willing to ad to the fun. We'll start another post with more details probably up under the site improvements area or something after we think out our best course of action.

Larry, we'll count you in and thanks again and again for being such a great participant, sport and supporter.

You're very welcome Ken. We have met some very nice Newell owners as well as those who drive Newells for the drivers who don't drive their own coaches to the track. Those guys also have interesting Newell stories. We are now (2013) semi-retired so if anyone finds theirself at the 12 hours of Sebring (March), 24 hours of LeMans (June) or the Petit LeMans in Atlanta (October) our only races hereafter, please come by Vanessa'a Hospitality Service and introduce yourself so we can enjoy a glass of wine and get to know more of the Newell family. (hopefully, with our reduced schedule we can attend a mini rally soon.)

Forrest, you should have just stated it was a 1998 Bluebird Wanderlodge early on and became the prize winner. I revealed the year a few post ago and you probably missed it. The next challenge is on a 2000 Wanderlodge over in Buyer/Seller Exchange. The person that gets closes to the selling price wins a gift that I will post over in that post. I figured since nobody got this Wanderlodge correct we'll practice learning the perceived value of our coaches and other types of luxury coaches. Coaches with a Bluebook value might be easier to learn but maybe not.
