1985 Newell Coach, 40’, complete factory interior renovation 1994, Detroit 8V92 turbo diesel 500hp with 170,000 miles, Allison 4 speed transmission, 80,000 mile engine tune up at 164,000k. Updated flat screen tv’s and stereo system. Tires, 3 years old. 2 house and 2 engine batteries 2 years old. 175 gallon main tank, 75 gallon reserve diesel fuel. 100 gallon fresh water, 130 gallon black/grey. 12 kilowatt Perkins marine diesel generator, Trace 2k inverter. Three roof duo-therm air-conditioners, three propane heaters with 12 volt blowers, 30 gallon propane tank, two 120v electric interior heaters, gaggenau 220volt 2 burner quartz element stove. Dometic 120v/propane refrigerator freezer, toaster/microwave. The interior was gutted and redone in 1995 to match the style standard Newell interior of that year, leather sofa and chairs, corian counters, the interior is very neutral, light, and appealing. The paint looks original and could use some touch up and clear coat.



My wife and I have owned this coach for about five years. We bought it from a dealer in Memphis but communicated with its former owner when we had questions, we are the fourth owner. Newell makes a great coach and we go by the factory in Miami Oklahoma about once a year for maintenance. It is not necessary to go to Newell as most diesel truck repair garages can take care of the undercarriage and engines and most rv dealers can fix the house items, but its a great way to learn about how coaches are built. The unit is extremely well made, all metal, heavy wiring, the best components available. I have not run into any parts that were not still commercially available.

Sean I have been in this coach and it is a pretty clean unit. I was impressed with it and they have it priced right. It is the last year prior to the wide body, so if you prefer a '96 wide coach which there are those who do, this would be a nice one. I know they had a recent service done back in the fall at Newell, so there should be some record of the engine condition, besides doing a current oil analysis anyway. They probably haven't ran it much since the service seeing it was probably stored away for the winter. Nice folks and they should be easy to consummate a deal with.

As you can see, it has lots of storage. What is interesting is that the table up front looks like it can be used in a couple of different configurations.

Fellow Americans, do you not see what is going on here? If one of us does not purchase this beautiful coach it will end up in some remote area of Canada where our beloved V configuration motor will be ripped out and replaced with some later model inline 6 cylinder. The pristine sides of this coach will be cut into and slides inserted. Our beloved florescent and incandescent lights will be replaced with LEDs. Our traditional sealed beam headlights will be replaced with HID projectors. Please stop this pillaging and purchase this coach and keep it in the lower contiguous 48 states!

I was very close to pulling the trigger on this coach, at the time I was very disappointed that someone hit the buy it now before I had a chance to look at it. We were going to leave town right after the auction ended to look at it and possibly buy it. I quess things happen for a reason as I am very happy so far with the 94 Paul

77newell did indeed sell the 77 newell and now owns Forest Olivier's "old" 93 coach. Since 93newell name is taken I'll stick with 77newell. Let's see now; 93 minus 77 divided by 2 plus 77 equals 85. So while I owned both the 77 and 93 I really just owned an 85. Since I've now sold the 77 all that math leaves me confused about the 85. Did I buy it, should I buy it and if I did what about the 93? Let's see 93 minus 85 divided by 2 plus 85 equals 89 which would still be a classic. If this makes any sense at all either I've not spent enough time with my Newell or I've spent too much time with my scotch. Or is it the other way around?

Either way you go, you still own a Newell and scotch according to both Jon's go very well together. Now, on a day when we meet up, we'll serve a toast to one another and I'll know what you both are saying is true. And after a few more toast, I'll probably agree wholeheartedly at what you just stated.

Oh, and whatever name you would like to change your name to, we can make a special exception and change it to that special new name you chose.:cheers:

Hi Ken! I have a 1988 Newell that I need to sell…. I am looking for a resource to help me price it. I had it appraised in Alabama a couple of years ago at 45K. It is solid as a rock, but very dated. I just drove it 9 hundred miles and it ran great. I have had lots of stuff repaired and replaced such as air conditioning, wiper motors, headlights, etc. it has “good bones” and would be a great cosmetic restoration project.

Can you advise me on how to start the sales process? It is in the Kansas City metro area….
