We have a Jake brake on our unit which I think is very satisfactory. That is until I drove a unit that has an Allison transmission retarder in lieu of a Jake brake. I loved the retarder. Why is an Allison retarder almost unheard of with most manufactures?? Is it due to un-reliability or a much higher cost?? Thanks
