We live about one hour north of Calgary. We took a drive yesterday to see how mother nature can affect our lives. Just a couple of pics attached. The first two of the dam that needed to dicharge many cubic yards of water per second just to stay ahead from the held back, controlled side. The controlled side did all they could as it was depleted of water two weeks ago that covers many acres. I would say the controlled side was up 20 feet from the norm. The water level in the roaring rivers was up 6 to 10 feet, depending on the width of coarse of the river. The last pic with the road closed sign,a friend of ours has a house/ body shop ect just off to the left of that fallen tree. His house is about 4 feet lower than the road height. That won't be nice to return to.

It is amazing how much flooding there has been. Then in other parts of the planet they could really use some extra water.

Mother Nature can give us a whammy sometimes. I hope the flooding doesn't cause to much damage. BE SAFE!
