question on towing a jeep grand cherokee

hi, i am shopping for a toad. looking at 98-00 grand cherokees. v6 4wd. do any of you know if it adds mileage to the odometer when you are towing it?

also looking at newer saturn vue, same question about it.

I had a 2001 Grand Cherokee and it's a great tow car. No, it does not add mileage or run the battery down. Just turn the key to the first aux. slot where the front wheels will turn then put the gear in neutral and then put the transfer case in neutral. After that put the gear back into park and you will be free wheeling with no mileage added and you won't run the battery down. To put it back in gear I just reversed the process. Good Luck.
