Should anyone be interested in a fantastic place to stay in the Palm Springs/Indio area, I can highly recommend the Motorcoach Country Club (or MCC, as it's referred to). It was developed at the same time the Las Vegas Country Club was (through Monaco, I believe), but is even more lush with a golf course running through it.
Some sites are just parking slabs (still with nice views ~ even on the perimeter), others are so over the top with casitas, outdoor kitchens/living areas and more. You'll never see more Newells in one place (if you go there during the winter) ~ more than even Miami, FL! And yes, Karl Blade maintains a lot there as well...next to a waterway named after him. Oh, yes, beside the golf course there's waterways all over the property.
