During the early 1980's Newells used either the 6V92T or the Cummins V903 turbo. Both were good engines. A 1983 would be a narrow body, ie 96" wide. 1986 was the first wide body Newell (102" wide). As far as pros and cons. I will leave that up to the Classic owners to detail. However, these were good strong coaches. Reasonably simple to maintain. 196,000 miles is not very many miles for a diesel pusher, especially one that is 30 years old. A 1983 would be one of the first coaches that used the 'new' Newell numbering system. There were less than 30 1983 Newells built.
