items to keep in mind when looking for a marine HW heater.

The internal water holding tank should be SS or Aluminum, glass lined has a shorter life.

The heater should have an element overheat breaker , so if the electric is on and the tank is/gets empty , its a simple reset.

In order to attempt to moderate the FW temp (which can get to 180-200F) some units will have a bypass.

Many do not by pass , they simply restrict the flow.

These suck if anything (like a box heater) is on the same feed circuit. It will slow the circ water and the heater will have no output.

Since the hot water is close to 180F , the on board use of a thermostated mixing valve is good insurance.
