Default Roof AC..

Joseph,

John C is right; stay with the roof AC. I had a 1993 Newell 2000 44' with 3 basement ACs. I changed 5 condensor fan motors during the 8 years that I owned the coach. John C is right about finding someone to work on the basement ACs. In Las Vegas, during 100 degree heat, our front AC would not cool. I called 3 AC repair shops and nobody wanted to touch it. Any RV shop will work on roof ACs. I don't know why they are afraid to work on the basement ACs, but they are.

I had the AC repair service in my hometown change the 5 condensor fan motors. They also changed a compressor for me. They said that it was just like a home central AC unit and were not afraid to work on it.

Go figure!
