Russ, it sounds like to me from what your saying, that you may have a shaft seal bad. If it is the problem, it's not major, but can be problematic if not attended to. Keep your fluid level up and get your coach into Allison.
I have always done my own repairs in this area and it is only the cost of a seal. Even with Allison doing the repairs, it shouldn't be too costly.
