new to us
It looks like we are closing in on a 1982 Newell 38' (I believe Classic) VIN:1N9805179C1011007.
We lived aboard our Wooden Sailboat for 12 years and I am looking forward to exploring the Interior of the US. We currently live in Idyllwild, CA and I am tired of the snow in the winter and will be looking for Greener Pastures!
I will be asking some advice later but for now here we are.
Steve & Patti

A very nice looking coach Steve. Glad to have you and Patti with us. Your coach looks extremely close to Clarke and Elaine's coach.

Welcome Steve and Patti.....we have a 1982 36' Newell, and Mike is right, yours looks a lot like ours....in fact a LOT like ours, only 2 feet longer! When you take possession let us know. We'd love to see your coach and answer any questions we can. We live in Ontario, California....not that far away.
When you get a chance post pictures of your '82 in the Gallery.

Thanks guys! I am excited about the Newell. I will be going out to withdraw Oil Samples from the Engine, Trans, Generator and Radiators next week. As long as all works out as expected I will be signing the dotted line and making the repairs needed to bring it home. I will also measure the coach to clarify what the length is.
Clark or/and Elaine (not sure who is at the other end),
The Coach is in Yuma, AZ. The PO passed after a battle with the Big "C" and it hasn't run for a few years. I am not sure right now how much is Operational but I will be checking all of the Equipment next week. I would appreciate being able to get together with you and Clarifying some items after I make the deal. I will be needing help with the suspension but after looking at that forum it appears that the Suspension is a source of irritation. I am not sure how much of the original manual is there so any help will be appreciated but I will post those questions on that forum so that others will be able to benefit.
Thanks again,
Steve

Hi Steve...it's Clarke on this end. More than likely it is a 38 footer. 36 footers after 1980 are more rare it seems. Would love to get together with you and go over the coach. We purchased ours March 1st, so we're still in the middle of our learning curve. Fortunately ours had been used on a regular basis and pretty much all systems were operational (chassis a/c and cruise control did not work, but do now).

The Lab Results just came back and they look good. The 6V92 and the AC Generator look great. The Transmission needs to be Serviced and the Coolant needs more Anti-Freeze. I have made the final arrangements for the purchase so we now own the 1982 Newell Classic 38'. I will need to make some repairs an get new tires before making the ride home but the hard part is over now.Steve

Well, I would welcome you but I think you're already part of the gang.
Glad to have you as part of the group, and we can't wait to see more pics, and share in your Newell renewal.

Got an e-mail from Steve today, and he has committed to buy the 1982 Newell after receiving the better than expected lab results for tranny fluid, engine oil, and coolant from both engine and genset. He will return to Yuma in the near future to get the air ride working, replace the tires and drive it back to Hemet.
