Question States with the best rest stops

I say Texas! because everything is bigger in Texas! Well that and most that we have stopped at have been super clean.

What state/states have you been to that you would say have the best rest areas?

I like Oregon and Washington, they have RV dumps and potable water at many that I've stopped at. And you can catch a nap, never had a problem sleeping at one.

Hands down I say this one goes to Florida. Large rest areas with lots of parking spaces, clean restrooms and picnic areas. Another plus + they are well lit at night time and have nighttime security.

Jon I agree. Washington and Oregon have some good ones.

Nebraska is plentiful when it comes to rest areas. I have noticed when traveling there are some states that have few and far between.

Ohio has some nice rest stops. Ohio is the only state that provides overnight RV parking spaces with hookups. They have some spots available at some locations along their toll highways also.

My vote goes to Texas. Free wifi at a lot of rest areas. Also Texas has rest areas not only on interstates but on quite a few other highways.

Montana has nice rest areas. On the Montana Gov site they have it listed whats at each rest area:

  • Drinking water
  • Picnic areas
  • Pet exercise area
  • Recycling containers
  • RV dump station
  • Internet access
  • Truck parking

Texas rest stops are a tough one because I have been to some dirty ones in Texas but I've also stopped at some pretty darn nice ones.
