Fuel gauge not working
My fuel gauge stopped showing anything. Fuse is OK. I suspect there is some testing that I can do to determine if I have a gauge or sending unit problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Start by checking the connections on the ground. There's a good chance it's loose.

The connections to the gauge are good, but I do not have access to the sending unit. Can someone tell me how to test the gauge to verify it is or is not the problem?

Most fuel level senders that I've seen go to ground inside the sender. One way to test it is simply to put a jumper on the lead from gauge to ground and see how the gauge responds. If the gauge responds then the sender is bad, if not then there is a problem either in the wire to the sender or the gauge or the power to the gauge which can be checked with a voltmeter starting at the fuse.

Jon, yes I did as you suggest and the gauge responds. I have ordered a new sending unit to have on standby to get installed someday when I get the courage.

Alan, it depends on the year of your coach. Your owner's manual should identify the fuse number and where it is located. If it is the sending unit that needs to be replaced, there are tricks to do the job - again depends on the year.

It's an '03. The manual is not help. It says there's a fuse in the panel in front of the passenger seat. When I look, it's is simply a terminal with some wire connections - no fuse. Am I missing something>
