Dupont Chrome Illusion Paint ?
I am having some spot repair paint work done on my coach graphics done locally. The graphics are painted with Chrome Illusion Paint. The paint repair will be done using DuPont Chroma Premier KK720FX Pure Fire Prism. My painter asks if a clear coat should be applied? Please advise... I intend to have 3M Scotchcal Paint protection Film (Permashield) applied when the paint work is completed.

Repairing with Chrome Illusion paint requires a clear coat. We recommend that you follow DuPont's specific recommendations as to the material and the application for the clear coat.

The Chrome Illusion paint is pretty straight forward and yes has to have 2k clear over it. One main thing to remember that most supplier fail to mention is that you should use a GF gun with a brand new tip. There is no room for error or it can hurt the pocket book. It took 6 quarts to paint this car at $360 a quart. Best of luck!
