Default Coach side generator compared to a front generator

After looking at several luxury motor coach brands, I see many with front generators and many with side generators. In fact both cases appear on low end and high end makes. I wonder if one is really better than the other as long as they can be slid out for maintenance access?

I had a side generator in a Country Coach which ran hot most of the time. My Newell has not run hot and seems to have ample radiator capacity.

I also think that weight placement is a concern for most manufacturers,I have a curb side rear bay generator and it is in the right place as far as weight and it never overheats.
