Jon, you're pretty darn slick! This must be where GMC or Cortez Equipment got their ideas for the Olds based motorhomes. What do you think? Maybe they were hanging out with Alice in Wonderland?

That Olds/airstream reminded me of another picture from that same era. If you look closely I think that is Tom Mc Cahill driving?Click image for larger version

Gordon, uncle Tom was definitely an interesting guy. Enjoyed his commentary.

Where is Larry W. on this deal? He should have some additional insight for us!

Does have a lot of characteristics of the original Newell's. Knobs might be a little unique. Is it a one off or prototype?

Keith, you got to be kidding me! A one of a kind pop-up. So, who did that conversion? Looks like a creation my older brother would have came up with. He always liked to chop something up and add to it.

Im not sure who did the conversion, I bought it from an elderly couple from Saskatoon, I paid around 400 bux for it plus if I remember right she had me prune some trees in her yard too!! It was a 59 chevy stationwagon 283v8 with a 2speed powerglide, original power steering and brakes. It was in great shape and whoever did the conversion did a nice job. I remember turnibg on the radio and having to wait to warm up before it would work. The roof went bad on it and ended up selling it to a guy for parts, he was restoring a 60 chevy convertable. I did have some great times with it!!

I've been on the road to Sebring since late Sunday and missed all the great comments on this thread. What a bunch of perverts we have accumulated along the way. Wish I could meet everyone of them in person. Great Scotch, smoke coming out the back of the camper? Sounds like a party in motion! Glen Turett Gentlemen, Glen Turett! Gem Morangie double cask, is one of my favorites also. I'm still hanging tight with Mr. Newells first hand built "coach", but it does bear some similarities to this little gem I had some time ago.Click image for larger version
