gordon and i had a chat on the phone. he is going to get a new starter cap for the fan motor tomorrow and see what it does. he said it wasnt too hard to get at and i imagine it will not be very expensive to try. since the motor will work if spun by hand to get started, i suspect the starter cap will likely fix it. but as everything else, who knows till ya try it.
