Default Testing A/C Unit Sewer Type Smell

While testing our A/C units the last couple of times we started them we get a smell that may be sewer not sure. If your A/C has a leak don't they have something that will stink so you know it's leaking?

opinions please!

Frank

Overcharging batteries can have a "sewer" smell due to the hydrogen sulfide gas produced. Your A/C might be pulling fumes from somewhere and distributing them around.

Are your A/C units rooftop, basement or window mount?

It could it be pulling the smell from your black tank vent on the roof.

Had what I thought was the same issue, until I saw my grandson giggling. The culprit being last night's baked beans. That boy can blow up a room Sorry couldn't resist!
