newell Motor home roof structure strength
My question is what are newell roofs designed to handle weight wise? By this I mean weight wise by a person. I am not overweight I just need to buy the stretch pants if you know what I mean  but I do need to go on a diet according to my wife . If someone can give me an answer that would be most helpful.

That is an interesting question, I would think that you would have to check with Newell Coach to determine the roof load capacity.

I can't imagine anyone who could physically get onto the roof being too heavy for the roof to support (that probably lets out someone that weighs say 500-600 pounds). My coach has visible rivets so it is easy for me to walk on the ribs where the rivets line up but I have never worried about damaging the roof by stepping anywhere I needed to go up there.

I have a dent on my roof from the last owner loosing his balance and landing I believe on his knee. It makes for nice little bird bath. lol. Really it actually doesn't affect anything and I too walk on the riveted areas.

Apparently I'm not as cautious as other owners, I've been all over my roof on my previous '73 and current '86 and never left a dent. I don't wear stretch pants, but I have been as high as 235 lbs but down to 185 lbs now in my new fighting weight.

I spent quite a bit of time on my roof installing solar panels, etc. on mine and never had a problem. But I was kneeling and crawling. Too scared of heights to walk around up there!
